Paris Park Nears Completion

Construction is nearing completion for the reconfigured Paris Park, which provides an environmentally friendly, convenient centralized parking area for visitors to Downtown.

The project involved reconstruction of the Locust Street streetscape and construction of a 100 space, shared-use parking lot. Stormwater emanating from the paved areas and the rooftops of the Masonic Template and Strand Theater will be diverted from the Village’s combined sewer system, and conveyed to ‘green infrastructure’ techniques designed to capture, treat, and infiltrate stormwater runoff. Green infrastructure includes: bioretention filters, porous pavement, and stormwater street trees/planters.

The Village was successful in securing $725,000 in funds from the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation Green Innovation Grant Program.

Some residents to receive waterline replacement surveys

The Village of Hudson Falls has been systematically replacing and improving its water distribution system.  Over the last 6 years the Village has received $3.5 M in funding from the NYS Office of Community Renewal through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.  This has funded water main replacements on portions of School, Maple, Clark, East, Union, Mechanic, Pearl, Cherry, Mulberry, John, Poplar, and Elizabeth Streets, and Hudson Place.

The Village is again seeking funds to replace water mains on portions of Willow, Beech, and William Streets and Liberty Place.  To be eligible for these grant funds, the Village needs to obtain some basic information on the residents who would benefit from this improvement, including general information on the range of household incomes present in the neighborhood.  Residents of this area will be receiving a mailed survey, please complete and return this survey as soon as possible.
