The Village Police Services Study that’s underway has established a website. The site is an important part of the efforts of the Village’s Study Steering Committee to reach out to residents for input and feedback throughout the study process. The site can be found here.
(As seen in the 2013 Spring newsletter)
Well, when you receive this letter Spring will be around the corner. Soon it will be time for yard clean-up. Please note the leaf/brush pick-up section of this letter.
The resurrection of our Main Street corridor has started. We have had numerous businesses take advantage of grant money for façade improvements. Peter Hoffman’s rehabilitation of Bank Commons property is an exciting project for the continued success of our downtown.
We are currently investigating sharing our Village Hall with the Town which will help move the Strand Theatre project forward. Part of this vision includes the Wall Street pond area. We have started some brush removal to open this area for a musical/arts type venue.
In closing, I must say I am very excited about the future of our Village with many great projects moving forward. During the Route 4 reconstruction phase, exercise caution and patience and more importantly, continue to support all of our local businesses during this time frame. We must help them “weather the storm”.
Sincerely,
Mayor John Barton
